Crash Beams - 2010

Barrier1 Systems, Inc. completed expedited order for more than 80 manually operated systems with delivery in 45 days in support of US Forces overseas. The kit based Drop Arm Crash Beam Gates are installed at various entry control points and provide protection against unauthorized vehicle intrusion. They are set up in about 2 hours using basic tools provided with instructions manuals. The drop arm is raised vertically or rotated horizontally by 1 person, and can span across 2 lanes. The drop arm gate has massive vehicle arresting capability, and obtained an ASTM crash test certification stopping a 15,000 lb vehicle at 52 mph impact.

Vehicle Arrestor - 2010

Barrier1 completed installation of Vehicle Arrestor at US military base in Southeast. Work included site surveys, engineering design, fabrication, installation, and testing. The vehicle arrestor is an active net based vehicle barrier that deploys in less than 2 seconds from below the pavement, and absorbs energy and "gives" upon vehicle impact. Project work included multiple controls, traffic lights, alarms, warning signals, signs, loop detectors, and other safety devices.

Bollards - 2010

Barrier1 Systems, Inc. completed engineering, fabrication, and delivery of more than 200 Department of State K4, ASTM M30 rated Shallow Mount Bollards in support of Law Enforcement Facilities at locations in North East. The Shallow Mount Bollards are only 12" deep, and components are modular and easily installed. Barrier1 Systems also provided engineering support to the contractor installing these shallow mount bollards.

Barrier1 Systems, Inc. completed engineering, fabrication, and delivery of 60 M50 bollards that will stop 15,000 lb vehicle at 50 mph. The bollard order was fabricated and delivered in 14 days. Covers were stainless steel brushed finish. Engineering plans and installation instructions were provided.

Electric Crash Beams - 2010

Barrier1 Systems, Inc. completed order for multiple electric crash beams at locations in Northern US. The electric crash breams raise or lower in 2.5 seconds. System includes flashing beacons, traffic lights, loop detectors, card readers, and other devices. System is surface mounted and operational within hours. The crash beam has massive vehicle arresting capability, and obtained an ASTM crash test certification stopping a 15,000 lb vehicle at 52 mph impact.

Bollards - 2010

Barrier1 Systems, Inc. completed engineering design, fabrication, and installation of a unique bollard system bollard system requested by a Canadian manufacturing facility. Bollard system was designed to stop an 80,000 lb truck at 30 MPH impact speed. Project was completed on time and on schedule.

Waterway Arrestor - 2010

Barrier1 Systems, Inc. completed design of waterway arrestor system in foreign country to control marine traffic access to confidential infrastructure. The waterway arrestor was operated using wireless controls from the vessel, where the barrier was lowered to allow marine traffic access. A trigger automatically raised waterway arrestor once the vessel passed. The waterway arrestor adjusted automatically to tidal influence, where the end supports and net height would change according to tide level.

Bollards - 2010

Barrier1 Systems, Inc. installed a fixed bollard that requires no rebar. It is prefabricated with all structural components, so that the bollard unit is set in excavation and concrete is poured. Installation time and costs are significantly reduced. This set and pour bollard has been crash tested with 15,000 lb vehicle at 50 MPH, and has received an ASTM M50 rating.

Quick Connect Barriers - 2009

Barrier1 completed fabrication and installation over site of 15 Quick Connect Barriers with span distances from 20 feet to 60 feet. The Quick Connect Barrier is easily connected by 1 person in minutes to control vehicle access. It is an inexpensive alternative to multiple concrete jersey barriers being placed, removed and stored.

The drop arm gates are being used in a specialized security application to prevent unauthorized vehicle access. The gates will span 28 feet across two lane roads. The drop arm is raised vertically or rotated horizontally by 1 person to allow access. The drop arm gate has obtained an ASTM crash test certification where it stopped a 15,000 lb vehicle at 52 mph impact.

Sliding Gate Engineering – 2008

Barrier1 Systems, Inc. completed design reviews, calculations, analyses and recommendations for crash resistant sliding steel gate systems used at Border Protection crossings in southern US. The sliding gates were designed to stop a 10,000 lb vehicle at 40 mph. Barrier1 used past crash test results, prior data, videos, and engineering analyses to assist with the design and analyses.
